Karmen will go to the Galley and grab some alcoholic beverages, asking people what they want.
Lia will know from experience that it’s acceptable for people who aren’t on their duty shift to have a few drinks at these dinners, though outright drunkenness should be reserved for dock leave (or perhaps the privacy of one’s cabin). However, Karmen only does this when there’s an occasion.
When everyone has something in their hand (alcoholic or not, as long as it’s liquid), she says, “For sure, we’ve got a little something to celebrate this Cycle!”
She raises her beer in Lia’s direction, “Lia’s just qualified for her merchie ticket.”
There are smiles and general congratulations offered.
To Gregar, she will reply that she’s happy to work on testing the Hopper with Oliver if that’s what suits everyone.
She’s surprised by Karmen’s announcement but smiles happily and raises her glass in response.
“Finally legal!”
Oliver is also happy to arrange that.
He will raise his glass to Karmen’s comment. “Congratulations, Lia.”
