F-017-Oliver: Spanial (N-Space to Jump Point), Engineering

“Alright.”

It’s possible he was going to ask more, but he switches the subject back to technical talk.

“For now, I need to run some checks on the habitat water supply system.  It’s easier with two and given Prrri’s just gone to bed you can help me out.”

He brings up a screen on one of the engineering consoles, “this is the diagnostic function…”

He takes Oliver through several functional menus and checks his understanding.  Then he grabs an earpiece and slips a coverall over his regular clothes.  He basically plans to probe and tinker with pipes and things in confined spaces while Oliver can run diagnostics on what he’s working on.  It’s basic stuff for Oliver but it will help Gregar.

He adds as he’s about to head down the ladder-well, toolkit in hand, “Oh, this here,” he gestures to a cabinet tucked away in one corner, “this is our busted stuff locker, if Prrri and I have a spare moment we sometimes try and fix gear from in here, or at least disassemble it for parts.  If you’re looking for something to do and I’m not around, you can have a go at it.”

Does Oliver have any questions, wish to interrupt?  Is he happy to help Gregar out?
