F-003-Lia: Spanial (N-Space to Jump Point)

I’m going to split the timeline again…

                Projects & Downtime

              Skyscape and Commission

Hmmm.  We apparently did discuss them being different projects about a year ago (A-210, A-211), but I haven’t flagged any time for Lia to work on the Commission, whether that was your intent or not, all her jewellery time has been allocated to the Skyscape in my tracking notes.

As it’s a Commission, how much time did she allocate when she quoted the work?

As it was a pre-existing thing as part of character background, she may have done some work on the Commission prior to play.  Give me a Jewellery Roll and we’ll see how far along it is.

            Manuals & Ship Study

She was reading the Hopper manual as a specific problem fix thing, she can include that as part of her general ‘this is how spaceships work’ studies.

          Time Allocation

So, manuals in work time, rec time split equally into:
  • Commission
  • Skyscape
  • Knife Skills Practice
  • Temptation Perfume
  • Palladium Ingot Research

Also, Lia’s a somewhat social creature, so I think she’d want to use some of her rec time not doing any of the above, though her rec time is extended because she doesn’t need as much sleep; does that seem reasonable?

      Messages

Lia can send and receive messages while Spanial is in normal space and using it’s comms array to connect to the Net, and also when it’s in dock and connected by a hard data line.  It’s become clear that Spanial often doesn’t run with a net connection active though it does sometimes; she can possibly speak with Ipan or Karmen about that.

Lia can record messages whenever she wants, but they won’t be sent until one of the above conditions is met.

Lia can’t make monetary transactions over the Net from the ship; that requires a public terminal with a money card reader attached or a visit to the Dominion Bank.  Although Karmen did salvage that money card reader…

    Spanial

The Cycle after leaving dock, Karmen pays Lia a visit while she’s on watch in Control. “Lia?”

Hmm good question. I haven’t got a clue how long it takes to make jewellery but I think this must have been commissioned on Captree (you can decide who by if you like). It’s a pendant, so not too complicated but it would take a while to design with input from the customer before the work even started. I’m guessing there would have to have been an understanding between Emerald and her customer regarding a relaxed time frame, considering her current position. Let’s say they agreed to around 3 weeks work, including design.

    12 vs 14 for Jeweller.

I’m cool with her spending some down time just hanging out with various people.

Lia will draft a message to Minor Vizier Farbello, just gently querying whether he is available as she will be back in Mundo Zargo soon and whether this catch up will be professional or recreational…

Lia will look up from her study when Karmen enters.

    “Hi… did you need something?”
