E-468-Oliver: Merchant Freighter Spanial (Leaving Zarg’s World Highport), Control

Before long, the pre-flight is completed.

Over internal comms, Gregar confirms the thrusters are ready.

Jennie sounds the maneuver warning.

Ipan is liaising with Space Control, reports they are clear to undock, and that relay telemetry and the ship’s sensors report clear space.

Karmen says, “At your discretion, Jennie.”

Jennie states, “Releasing docking clamps.”

A vibration runs through the ship.

Ipan responds, “Hard line feed disconnected, broadcast telemetry and passive suite active.”

The data displays on some of the screens change, the extra information on local space previously available through the ship’s direct connection to the Highport no longer available.

“Leaving dock.”

There’s a sense of lateral movement as Jennie engages the maneuvering thrusters and Spanial travels slowly sideways away from the Highport docking frame.

Once the ship has travelled several hundred metres into open space she says, “Engaging main thrusters.”

A whispering rumble runs through the ship’s frame and the ship begins a gentle forward acceleration, a fraction of it’s capability while still close to port.  Through the viewports Oliver can see lights and structures passing by across the surface of the moonlet that is the Highport at Zarg’s World.

If you wish, you may make a PER roll for Oliver.

Does Oliver wish to say or do anything?

  1. Oliver Starr says:

    9 on Per.

No, he observes Ipan doing his job so he can try and emulate it later.
