E-400-Lia: Zarg’s World Downport, The Shipmaster’s Club

The name is Raina, just Raina

From texts [edited]:

Which of those names would Lia use?

Raina (as per your naming of the character)

Literally no-one calls her Sceleste  to her face. It’s only used in formal situations where use of a full name is appropriate, and this is probably the first time Lia’s heard that use.

Her given name might as well be Raina. Her lieutenants and other trusted people are allowed to call her that. Others use Mer or Ser or titles like ‘boss’. Lia has also heard if her referred to as ‘Pakhan’ a couple of times.

Pakhan?

Lia has no context for the word.

Intriguing. Would she have heard her first name before this meeting at all?

i.e. How is it written/signed on the contract.

It’s up to you.  If Lia investigated her client it would not be too difficult to find out her name.  The contract only contains the name Raina.

The Shipmaster’s Club

“Both our employer and Mer Zayaire are in similar businesses and operate under an agreement to restrict themselves to certain territories.  That agreement is less clear regarding engagement of contractors, but there have been problems in the past in this area.  She wishes to limit the risk of that happening.”
