E-369-Oliver: Merchant Freighter Spanial (Docked at Zarg’s World Highport), Cargo Hold

Hopper

By the time he locates and dons the Gecko boots the hold has pressurised.

He enters through the cargo airlock into the open space of the hold.

The hold is an empty cylinder about 20m high and 10m in diameter, I’m assuming Oliver has figured out how to switch the white lights on so he can see.  At the aft end, currently at his feet, is a large view window into Cargo Operations that has shutters that can be closed if desired.  Nearby, a second purpose-built snug airlock connects the Hold to the Hangar and is exactly large enough for one standard container to pass through.  Above his head, in the forward end of the cylinder are a set of large doors, currently closed.  Near the doors, a robot cargo arm is dormant in its storage bay.

Secured against the cylinder wall, near the forward end of the cylinder, is a small open-cockpit space utility vehicle – the Hopper.

It’s cold in here and the air is damp, having just been been decompressed.

Oliver approaches the hopper, will the current environment damage his electronics? Specifically the laptop or PDA? He wants to use the inbuilt UI where he can, but if it makes diagnosis easier he’ll hook up his laptop to attempt to access the source code.
