C-210: Maldemar 732 (docked at Zarg’s World Highport), Oliver’s Cabin
“So if that’s all correct – and we’re just guessing – but if it’s all correct, what you’ve found about what Argyle was working on might be important, but it isn’t what Frederick wants.”
She pauses, and Oliver has a glimpse of her vulnerability as it flits across her face, with a slight tremor in her voice she says, “I think a galaxy where Frederick doesn’t get what he wants might not be a good place for the people on this ship.”
She swallows, “So I’d really like it if we could figure out a way to move forwards.”
She makes a kind of awkward ‘I-hope-you-agree-with-me face’, and continues, “but you’re also the closest thing I’ve got on this ship to a friend and ally, Oliver- boss… I do get that following his trail into Separatist space is both risky, complicated and potentially dangerous in and of itself.”
Oliver leans back in his chair and sighs, staring at the roof.
“I guess the alternative is I go off on my own, maybe with Chris, and hire a different crew to take me. The only other alternative is finding another pilot and leaving Halcyon here.”
He then looks to her.
“You’re the closest friend I have on the ship too.”
