C-098: Maldemar 732 (Hyperspace to Zarg’s World), Oliver’s Cabin

OK.  If you’re happy to let them nerd talk for a bit we can move on.

That said, Erin suggests Oliver could load the ship’s maintenance database into his glasses, that way whenever he focussed on a ship component he would know something about it.

However, we can keep this conversation going in detail if you wish.

Oliver’s Routine

In Red Shift on 211.482 Oliver completes his research into #52 (because I realised I accidentally missed this one so Oliver obviously decided to skip ahead to #59 after reading about it in the journals…)

IT Project#52 dates from around 206.9.  This seems to be Argyle’s earliest project for Contact.  Argyle has been given a series of storage devices and asked to decrypt and extract data from them.  It seems he’s both suspicious and excited by this new project, but takes a number of steps to secure the data.  Oliver can determine that the storage devices come from Pristine and several worlds in Octant 7.  Argyle seems able to decrypt and evaluate the devices, but his precautions mean that Oliver will need to do a second round of analysis on the material to discover what it was he found.

Oliver says that sounds like a good idea, the glasses would probably be more practical when individual sets are programmed to certain proffesions or areas of work.

Oliver will continue with his current train and follow up by doing the 2nd round.
