Lia does know that:  The shuttle is not capable of FTL travel and so can’t move between systems, ie Zarg’s World to New Zargland in the shuttle is not possible within a human lifetime.  

It’s really built for moving between a world’s surface and orbit, although being equipped for long occupancy with it’s own cabin and full life support means it can make interplanetary trips inside a system.
