B-507: Zarg’s World, Downport, Restricted Environ, Prandial

He breathes out and relaxes slightly, appears to spend a brief pause collecting his thoughts (though he’s a man used to thinking on his feet, so it’s mere seconds) and assessing Winta’s face as he does so.

Lia senses he’s a man used to sidling up to an issue and then pivoting to take it from the flank, but he seems to have opted for a direct approach.

“I find myself somewhat conflicted.  I have had a very enjoyable lunch in your company and find you engaging and arousing.  While I have no doubt you are a highly accomplished actor I am a good judge of people, and I believe you have had an enjoyable time as well.

“I find I would like to experience more of your company, but also there is something within me – I called it my ego earlier – that resists, if I can be so crude, ‘paying for it’.”

He’s clearly going to continue, but he pauses briefly to size up her reaction.

What’s she showing?  And if she’s trying to hide it, can you give me a Will roll please?

There is a veneer up that she is attempting to maintain. She would call it her professional face. She will relax it slightly when he mentions her having an enjoyable time; she has and that will be evident but she attempts to replace the veneer when he brings up his ego.

I rolled a 12 vs 13 for Will but he will see the transition between the two expressions, however smoothly they transfer. The veneer snapped back up as protection from his next comment.
