“I’m quite successful in my work, but that comes at the cost of a huge investment of my time, and for most of that time I’m in my head thinking.  Even my interactions with other people, this conversation, I have a strong analytical internal monologue.”  

“As such, I’ve come to relish certain existential experiences in my down-time – tastes, sounds,” he rubs his fingers together, “…certain kinesthetic experiences.”

He picks up the wine, sniffs and takes a slow sip.

“It’s something of a micro break, a tiny escape.”

    Her face lights up as he’s speaking, she seems quite intrigued.

    “Ahh, so you were speaking in the literal sense rather than figurative. I can relate to the internal monologue. Mine tends to run from the sensory through the interpersonal and the analytical.”

    She taps her temple.

    “It does get noisy at times. I like the way you describe that feeling – the relishing of certain experiences. I find great joy in visuals of startling beauty; of smells that bewitch the senses; the feel of soft velvets and silks against the skin…”

    Her eyes have a glow about them.
