He eats for a time then, “I have a sense you’re treating this as a business meeting rather than a social occasion.”

    She smiles.

    “Most of my business meetings are social occasions.”

    She seems amused.

    She takes a bite of her spatchcock and enjoys the flavours for a moment before swallowing.

    “This is an unusual situation for me. Generally, people make contact with me letting me know of their interest in my business enterprise and after that initial contact, I set up a meeting to see whether their investment interest is worth my time.”

    She sips her wine before continuing.

    “Certain parameters are met and ground rules outlined during that meeting. It’s…odd to be in this situation. Things are… not yet defined…”
