Lexi’s eyes are hazel.
“Yes, I probably didn’t make it clear that I’m supposed to re-iterate really strongly, so maybe one and a half.
“However, she’s mostly concerned about your safety and I think we both agree that’s not being ticked off on the list.
She pulls out a top with a jagged stripe pattern on it in blue and black and assesses it critically.
“But I don’t think she’d agree that you being involved with Zayaire is not her business.”
Lia sighs.
“I can’t see her unless she can travel to where I currently am. The fact that I’m having this conversation with you instead of her, tells me that’s not possible. Not to mention she would require more time than I suspect I have right now…”
That last part is not muttered but not full volume and tapers off.
She selects a top in soft brown tones and holds it against Lexi.
“I appreciate the concern for my safety.”
Her tone has softened somewhat.
“He knows my face and there is nothing I can do about that. My crew needs the work and my presence seems to be…smoothing the way.”
She searches Lexi’s eyes.
“I’m choosing to stay, for now. She won’t like it. I’m sorry for that. I don’t like it much either, at the moment but it’s my choice.”
