He’s paying a lot of attention to Karmen, as she’s who he is speaking with and he does have a knack for making the person he’s talking with feel like they have his full attention. However, he’s glancing periodically at the others at the table and most of that time is spent watching Lia.
Zayaire says, “Lordly. I will be engaging you through Trade again.“
He turns his attention to Lia, “while I expect I will receive co-operation, I trust I can call on your assistance should our mutual friend need convincing?”
Lia will give him a long look.
The corner of her lips curve into a tiny smile.
“You didn’t struggle for co-operation previously…”
A beat. She takes a sip of water.
“My assistance in that area may be… situational. I would regard that as a last resort. Our… mutual friend might find it somewhat suspicious if you and I were suddenly in accord without good reason…”
She holds his gaze and takes another sip.
