A-042: Spanial, Lia’s Cabin


If she heats the mesh side it tends to melt the threads together into a solid, more rigid mass.  It also burns off the ammonia.  Both these effects make the material amenable to receiving an adhesive.

Incidentally, Lia knows it is possible to make ammonia gas burn, but it only does so if the oxygen supply to the flame is controlled in a certain range, so it’s relatively safe from that point.    

The metal side is quite heat resistant, though exposure to temperatures of several hundred degrees causes it to come away from the mesh substrate.

    She is going to record all these findings, make a few copies, one on a storage widget of her own, one to be given to Karmen and a spare.
