9-164: Argyle’s Lodge, Combat Turn 3

MetagameNarrative

Chris’s Effective Skill is 16, calculated from the following modifiers:
  • Base skill 12
  • Range -1
  • Target Size +1
  • Weapon Acc Bonus +3
  • All Out Attack +1
Chris rolls a 12.

His weapon’s Recoil (Rcl) number is 4.  For a Rapid-fire attack, one shot potentially hits on a successful attack, and one additional shot hits for every multiple of Rcl by which the attack roll succeeds.  [B374]

This means 2 shots hit of the 3 fired.

The Alpcow is stunned and unable to take an Active Defense so the shots hit.

As Chris is within 10% of his shotgun’s 1/2D Range, even though he’s firing shot, the attack is treated as if he’s firing a solid slug.  [B409]

At this range, Chris’ weapon does 4d6+4 Huge Piercing (Pi++) damage per hit [UT138].

Chris lets go with three shots from his shotgun, two of which hit.

Roll 8d6+8 for base damage.

Oops, I forgot to add the +1 for the All Out Attack – which made a significant difference to the result!

  2. Oliver Starr says:

    21+8 is 29 damage.
