9-097: Pristine Downport Road
Wardenate
The Wardenate is the security arm of the Vizierate. Wardens act as guards that protect Vizierate facilities, provide personal protection to Viziers (or occasionally, important Vizants) and act as troops aboard Vizierate ships (though one would not generally expect the Vizierate to be landing assault troops!) Wardens are much fewer in number than the Legion. They will often act in conjunction with their Legion counterparts at large facilities, particularly where there is a joint presence. Oliver has seen this in action at both MaPaCoA and GRRAS.
Anecdotally, Wardens are better trained than the majority of their Legion counterparts. Though their role is prescribed such that in reality the equivalency lies only with a subset of the Legion Operations Class, so that might account for the perception. The Legion disputes the training disparity.
The Warden rank structure is relatively flat. Within the lower levels of Wardens there are two streams, Guard Wardens and Wardens, the distinction is that after a period of time, some Guard Wardens receive additional training and become Wardens (unusually, Wardens are distinguished by the removal of the small Guard badge, rather than addition of a new qualifying marker). It is possibly this custom that leads to the training quality dispute.
As a rule, Wardens are trained to operate singly or in small teams. They do not operate in large formations like the Legion sometimes does.
Unlike the Legion, which is supported by the Staff Class, Wardens are supported by Vizants or contract staff.

Dicard nods, apparently boosted by the show of optimism.
Good to know.
Oliver has nothing else of import to say.
