The hoop also has a section that looks a bit like a belt buckle or a worm clamp that’s designed to allow it to slide over itself and change its diameter, only there’s no adjustment mechanism visible and Lia is unable to move it.  She also notes a shallow ridge running around the side of the rim on the opposite side to the film.  The metal is thin enough that it’s somewhat flexible, but it’s unclear exactly what it might be; probably some type of alloy.

It’s unlikely Lia can identify it, but if she does very well on an IQ roll, she may have some inspiration.
