8-427: Shipwreck Habitat Section, Deck 3
Those little pin-prick marks are dotted across many of the metal surfaces here, particularly near the hatches and in an area near the middle of the room.
Near the middle of the room, one of the chairs still affixed to the floor has a dark scorch-mark on the back and there is a darker, scorched area on the metal deck a couple of metres in diameter. Ominously, the dark scorch pattern has two small clear areas near one edge that look like footprints.
Now she’s looking closely, there is also a flat metal hoop floating about the area that doesn’t seem to belong with the other equipment in here. It is perhaps 40cm in diameter, 5cm wide and a few mm thick with raised edges about 1cm high, there’s a torn fringe of transparent filmy substance (think heavy-duty glad wrap) coming out from the hoop’s rim on one side.
Other than the debris already described, the Galley looks in good order. Things are stowed away where they should be. Anything that requires refrigeration has spoiled, though when Lia opens one of the refrigerators to check there’s a small gust of air and food debris as the air locked inside the refrigerator escapes. In one of the cupboards, several sachets of sauce have exploded when their internal pressure has exceed the packaging’s limits on exposure to vacuum (obviously not space-rated stock!) Other than that, all the supplies seem intact.
The hatch to Deck 2 looks similarly damaged to the others in this part of the ship.
Hmm ok.
First she will have a look at the metal hoop. Is it identifiable?
