Taking a sample of the threads won’t be a problem.  When she does so, she finds that the other ends of the threads all end in small metal capsules.  Each is about 5 mm in diameter and 20 mm long.  Almost all the capsules are embedded in things, like the walls and the body, and suffering from various levels of deformation.  It appears they are hollow and have long lengths of the metallic threads wound up inside them.  The threads pull easily out of the capsules if Lia exerts any force.
