8-148: Merchant Freighter Spanial – Control
Cabin
Stash is stashed.
Rosaline seems happy to see her, and would possibly love to chat more, but understands that Lia is busy.
Control
Sorry, I think I was unclear. Jennie wasn’t prompting, Jennie was accepting command of the ship while Karmen is there, and Karmen is taking Ipan’s sensor operator job. Jennie seemed a little surprised – normally her responses are crisp and professional.
We can scrub Lia’s response if you wish (because she would sound like a doofus).
Let’s say it’s actually Jennie, who repeats more clearly, “I have Control,” as she settles herself into Karmen’s usual seat while Lia is sitting herself at the Helm station.
Lia’s had a chance to practice this on the simulator, and she would have actually done a similar maneuver in a much smaller craft before. It looks as if she’ll be asked to take Spanial out of dock and put her on course for the jump point.
There’s a pause while everyone adjusts themselves, then Jennie asks Karmen, “Who’s doing the Nav plot?”
Karmen responds, “That would be your decision, Conn.”
Jennie pauses, “Very well, I’ll rough out the Jump plot, then you can plot the N-Space course to the jump point while I refine the jump. In the mean time, contact the Highport for our clearance and run a diagnostic on the sensors.
“Lia, begin the pre-flight checklist please.
“Both of you, work with Gregar and Prrri as you need to.”
Lol ok let’s scrap the doofus routine.
Lia will run through her pre-flight checks, contacting Engineering as needed.
