8-061: Merchant Freighter Spanial
N-Space to Zarg’s World
Kort will be happy to gym-time with her again if she arranges it conveniently, but won’t seek Lia out if she doesn’t.
Rosaline is presumably happy to spend time with her and may have been missing her. The crew do seem to enjoy their Lia interactions.
Rosaline watches while she takes her Zoner! trip and seems happy to chill some more. So I’m assuming she took one on Lia Day 17, and one late on Lia Day 20. By my count she has 5 doses left when she arrives at Zarg’s World.
Docking
Spanial approaches dock with the Highport at Zarg’s World at GR09 on Lia Day 21. As Lia is expected to have work to do on arrival, she’s excused from flying duties. She’s welcome to sit in a Jump seat in Control if she wishes, or be wherever, really.
Zarg’s World itself is an A-class Colony world situated in the Goldilocks zone of a yellow main-sequence star. Tidally locked to its star, the stellar point (closest to the star) is a blisteringly hot mountain range surrounded by a boiling sea, while the antistellar point (farthest from the star) is a solid block of ice almost a kilometer thick. Between them in the twilight zone is deep sea covering most of the globe with strong currents and huge waves. The main Downport is sited on a thick block of pack ice toward the anti-stellar point. The 85,000 inhabitants of Zarg’s World – small by A colony standards, are scattered in small communities across the planet in varied locations from the hot mountain mines to the frozen starport to the undersea arcologies to the floating village of Gravport.
The atmosphere is unbreathable, and mildly toxic as well as being devoid of oxygen. Gravity away from the settlements is just under half standard. The Highport itself is constructed out of the moonlet that naturally orbits Zarg’s World, and no large, artificial station has been put in orbit. Spanial docks with the metallic spiderweb of the Highport that surmounts the grey potato of the moonlet, and Karmen announces that the ship is secure. A shift ago, Kort took some concoction of drugs and disappeared into his cabin, saying he wasn’t feeling well, as per the plan. Karmen has his paperwork. The ship is secured and Karmen says the customs officials will be here shortly. Is there any last prep that Lia wishes to undertake, or any questions before they arrive?
Not really, she’ll shower and dress as previously discussed and she’ll wear a scent she calls Blue Jasmine. I assume she knows the general drill with customs, especially since she often smuggles goods through.
