8-021: Merchant Freighter Spanial
Itinerary
To be clear, Zarg’s World is a colonised world and is their overt destination as stated by Karmen. The system after that is the restricted one.
The ship goes into jump on Lia Day 8.
On Watch
Being on watch in hyperspace is pretty tedious. There’s no comms, zero returns from the sensors and the window shutters are closed (looking at hyperspace is highly unsettling.)
Technically, ships don’t have to have a person on watch while in hyperspace, but Karmen has said she wants someone in Control the whole time Kort is aboard.
Both Gregar and Prrri visit her in Control at different points.
Otherwise…
The ship is quieter when in hyperspace, as the thrusters aren’t running.
Kort seems to alternate between time in his cabin and time in the common room, where he seems to watch videos or work out. Lia sees him pounding away at a punching bag at one point.
Prrri and Gregar seem to appreciate her trips to Engineering.
During one trip, late in Blue, when Gregar is asleep and Prri awake, the Felline asks her why she decided to stay on the mission, feeling how she does about their employer.
She will take a while to respond to that.
“There are lots of things I could say in response to that. A big part of me is unsettled and feels like I should be back there trying to stop him. But I’m only one person. It’s going to take more than just me to bring him down.”
She pauses.
“I like this crew. It’s comfortable and feels…homey. I can imagine myself staying here…if it works out for everyone. And maybe… once this job is done, maybe I can convince the Captain that our current employer is worth putting down.”
