7-089: Illuminator – Senior Staff Lounge


“The quality of our intellect is indicated by the quality of our questions, and these simple questions are often the most difficult to answer.  

“Of course, my question is travelling under a false ID, and like it’s trying to bluff customs officials is using a confidence trick:  I framed it as ‘who,’ but if you take off the false nose and glasses it is really asking ‘why?’  Plus, it was presented as a kind of false dilemma, where only one answer can be correct, when of course, that is not the case.”

“But it is a good question, because it has you thinking.  Good questions do that, and I… don’t really need an answer, but perhaps you do.”

She leans back and sips her drink, looking a tiny bit smug, although not in a nasty way.  If it’s possible to look smug and sympathetic simultaneously, that’s what she’s doing.
