    Karmen may deduce an internal struggle in Lia. She is battling something without showing much outward signs of her feelings.

    She will lean back in her chair.

    “I like this crew. I like this ship.”

    A brief appreciative glance around before returning her gaze to Karmen.

    “I don’t like Zayaire. The man is a pig. An intelligent pig, I grant you and one who is powerful enough to be difficult but a pig none the less.”

    A slight pause as she looks at Karmen.

    “I have a…an objection to how he treats those women, if my information is accurate and the idea of… assisting him…”

    A beat.

    “… does not thrill me.”

    Another beat as she disappears fully behind a professional facade.

    “But I like this crew. I like the way you operate. I like that you are willing to take jobs on the left side of the Legion. It suits me.”

    She gives Karmen an assessing glance.

    “I would like to stay. The income potential for me on larger stations is higher, so I hope this is a decent payday. Depending on what you need, I may have certain… skills that could come in handy. Once Zayaire is no longer the Spanial’s employer, perhaps we can discuss…my objections further?”
