She smiles disarmingly.
“Shortly, I plan to take Hio ahead to Mundo Zargo to set up what I hope will be a profitable transportation deal. I will take Kwint and Ipan with me. You are a licensed pilot and certified cargo master. I was hoping that I could impose upon you to assist Jennie with Watch Standing and overseeing the unloading of our cargo when we reach Mundo Zargo?
“As this means you will be employed on a working passage basis I’ll refund your accommodation payment for this leg, of course. Plus…I’ll be grateful…”
Her last comment has a distinct flavour of being able to call in a favour at some future point.
She smiles in response to the nervous comment.
“A transportation deal sounds interesting. Sure, I’m happy to help out but my Piloting skills aren’t much to write home about.”
She looks mildly concerned.
“Here’s hoping I don’t have to use them.”
Slight pause as she shifts forward in her seat.
“Anything in particular I need to know about the cargo?”
