5-119: Legion Cast – Interview and Evaluation Room


Key points in the compact of recruitment:

  • Oliver will join the Dominion Legion through the Special Recruitment stream
    • As a Special Recruit, Oliver has no mandatory minimum term of service
    • Instead, as a Special Recruit, Oliver serves at The Overlord’s Pleasure until he turns 21
      • Oliver may request a discharge at any time, which will be granted or refused at The Overlord’s Pleasure
      • Oliver may be dismissed at any time at The Overlord’s Pleasure
    • On reaching age 21, Oliver may request a discharge at any time, which will be granted within 30 Cycles of being received by a Delegated Officer
    • Like all members of the Legion, after being Discharged, Oliver is subject to Recall at The Overlords Pleasure (that is apparently what happened to Alan)
  • Oliver will join as a member of the Commissar Class
  • Oliver will join at the initial rank of Recruit
  • Oliver will be promoted to Under Officer subject to satisfactory assessment of skills appropriate to those of a Commissar Officer
  • On being promoted to Under Officer, Oliver’s role assignment will be Intelligence Specialist
  • Oliver’s initial assignment will be to the specialist support crew (GRRAS detachment) of the naval destroyer Norhand  
  • As a Recruit, he will earn 71 Money per Cycle, payable every 30 Cycles in arrears (ʄ2,130)
  • As a Commissar Under Officer, he will earn 201 Money per Cycle, payable every 30 Cycles in arrears (ʄ6,030)
    • Additional allowances may be payable as per Regulations. 

There is also an oath:

I, Oliver Starr, swear that I will truly serve and protect my Overlord, 
His Name Heirs and Successors according to the Codex, 
as a member of the Dominion Legion.
I swear that I will serve and obey the superiors placed over me, 
combat his enemies and any treasons brought against him, 
and faithfully discharge my duty with all my spirit and body.

Prosperity!  Protection!  Victory!


After he thumbprints (and assuming he is still willing having read the above), Felicity will ask him to stand and repeat the oath after her.
