5-107: Legion Cast – Matthias’ Room
Matthias is holding an eClipboard and refers to is as he talks, although Oliver suspects this may be more about theatrics than need to remind himself what just happened.
He says, “I was asked to set up a test that does two things: First, a practical examination of your capacity to get into storage areas that others have secured; second, we’re interested in your approach to things, how you solve problems as much as whether.
“So, firstly you broke into the computer system that monitors the test, which was not part of the test, but I think we can certainly give you marks for innovation. I moved you on quickly before you could use that to your advantage, like calling up the test video of me putting the statue in the box.”
“You had your tools with you so we didn’t get to see you improvise tools using the stationery or the electronic equipment. You missed the clue on the notepad and spare key to the cabinet hidden under the executive toy, but you didn’t need them, dealing effectively with both the mechanical and electronic locks.
“You spotted the electric eye and then quickly worked out that weight was the efficient way to assess the boxes. Although you may have been in a spot of trouble had I decided to do something amusing with pressure mines.”
He looks up briefly over the clipboard, as if he were looking over glasses at Oliver.
“You checked the contents in case there was something hidden and it looked to me that you checked the statue to make sure it was indeed of our Magnificent Overlord.
“Also, you avoided getting shot, which is usually part of getting a good evaluation. Although that, of course, is up to the scintillating Under Officer here.”
He gestures toward Felicity, who seems mildly annoyed that he keeps making fun of her rank, although Oliver has a sense that she actually likes Matthias.
He nods to the statue, “keep that; a trophy of your good work.”
He looks at Oliver quizzically, inviting questions.
“An interesting test, to be sure. I seems like you have an enjoyable role, to be so creative here.”
“How do you think I did?” Oliver directs his question at Felicity.
