5-077: Legion Cast
Flavour
I like the flavour stuff; its things like that that express character depth! 🙂
If we’re not going to do stuff like that, I clearly need to be using more hex maps and statting out combat NPCs…
So yes, I can imagine his mother gave him his weapon as a gift after he’d been practising with a similar one at the range and he has never fired it. He didn’t actually fire it on Pristine either, did he?
Conversation
It’s possible from the vibe she is giving off that Oliver has caught Felicity off guard.
She hesitates before saying, “I can’t discuss it until after the test.”
They travel several metres before she adds, “but I have observed in the past that Commissar Usher does seem to have an eye for talent.”
Oliver can continue the conversation if he wishes – we can do it concurrently with what happens next.
Destination
Eventually, after passing through a security door to what is apparently a more restricted area, they arrive at a small and drab room with one other door. Inside is a small man with a bald head in the somewhat rarely-seen grey-and-black uniform of a Staff Operations Under Commander. Oliver estimates his age at at least 20, possibly 30, or possibly 40; he’s one of those people for whom it is difficult to tell. Over his uniform he is wearing a grey and black lab coat that gives him a slightly sinister look.
“UCR Finch-Kostas,” says Felicity, “this is Special Recruit Candidate Oliver Starr.”
The gnomish man’s eyes twinkle, “Ah, so formal Felicity. Should I say, Under Officer Lazar-Opes, instead?”
He turns to Oliver, and nods warmly in greeting, “Oliver. May I call you liver? In any case, call me Matthias. I understand you’re a Special Recruit with some versatile skills?”
“Of course.” Oliver will nod slowly. As they’re approaching the door he will add “I wasn’t really refering to the test.” Trying to time it so she doesn’t quite have the window to answer before they meet their next person.
“You may call me what you like, Matthias. That’s what I’m here for, I suppose these tests will decide if that’s true or not.”
