4-117: Travel to Riddle

Glad you’re enjoying it 🙂  I wanted to take some time to give a sense of what space travel in the Dominion is like (it is a Sci-Fi game, after all, there should be some Sci-Fi and world building as opposed to just Space Opera and Futuristic Fantasy).

Erin seems to enjoy the intellectual and problem-solving interaction with Oliver and that they have a common interest in tech stuff.  He has a sense she probably doesn’t talk to the others aboard much and might be starved for social contact.

By the GYY break the next Cycle (211.343) Oliver has an idea what is in them.  It looks like the encryption program gives them file names consisting of random strings of numbers and letters and also randomises the file creation date and time – some of them are listed as being created in the future.  Consequently his initial list is a bit random as there’s no obvious order in which to investigate them:

He probably has 3-4 Cycles before the ship reaches GRRAS, unless the string of poor jump exits continues, in which case he might have slightly longer.  This means he’ll need to prioritise what he wants to get done before he has to report back to Frederick.
