Dicard was working on Aran’s Pride in some sort of economics analyst role on Aran’s Pride before being offered the opportunity to be ViC (Vizier-in-Charge) of this Project.

In his own words:

“I was doing macro-economic analysis on Octant 6’s economy when I was told to drop that project, hand it back to the project sponsor and strongly encouraged to accept this project instead.  It’s a higher Tier; they didn’t have to encourage very hard.”

 

Dicard has evidenced that he’s not especially self-reflective:  The man who barely spoke to his team the whole trip out and back from GRRAS to Pristine did not bat an eyelid when talking about being socially outgoing.  When he spoke of dwarfing Frederick, it was as if it is simply something he assumes will come to pass eventually.
