He is the junior mechanic of the Vizierate Sloop Maldemar 732.  

He was born on Zargonia in the city of Settlement and had been working as a Vizierate contractor for one kiloCycle before joining the Maldemar 732.

So far, he hasn’t had much to say about himself.

“I trained to become a starship mechanic and a posting on a Vizierate ship is much sought after.

“I feel very privileged to be here and to work under someone as knowledgeable as Engineer Malan.

“When we were looking for another hand I worked with Vizier Dicard on the selection.  He seemed very focussed on security and Downer seemed to have the best rating on that criterion.

“Now I know why – he’s the most incurious person alive.  He can follow a maintenance schedule and he works all his shift, but he won’t chase after problems,  If it’s not in the diagnostic manual he doesn’t have an opinion about it.

“I prefer people with a bit of initiative.”
