Vizierate Offices

Called ‘The Vizierate Offices’ the site more accurate fits the description of ‘walled compound’.

The offices are located on the outer ring of the Clement Basin town centre.

It is a brick-walled compound. The wall has its own little sloped roof on top.

The buildings inside the Vizierate Compound are predominantly stone rather than brick and tend to be larger than the others in town.  However, they’re still grouped in little clusters with gravel paths running across wide swathes of mud-and-snow-covered open ground between them.

Locations

Gatehouse

At the end of a short driveway is a gatehouse with a small carport; fans are constantly blowing a stream of warm air into the vehicles stopped here.  All occupants of any vehicle will be required to tag in via a tag reader that extends into the car on a robot arm.  The gatehouse contains a Warden who will survey the inside of the vehicle from inside his security window.  The warden’s voice comes through a speaker in the reader, “Tag In please.”

Main Building Cluster

Through the gate is a main building cluster.

A Vizant will greet visitors at the entrance.
If needed, electric carts are scattered around for travel between building clusters.

ViC’s Office

The ViC’s Office is in the main cluster.

It is notable for a large rustic-looking desk made of polished rough timber and stone (anywhere else, this would be a horrendously expensive item of furniture, but here on Pristine it was probably quite economical, looking to have been crafted from of some of the local, oddly angular trees.

Residential Cottages

Accommodations are clusters of small cottages opening onto a covered courtyard. Everyone has a small cottage building to themselves, and there are a number of other cottages here, some showing signs of occupancy.

Wardenate buildings

The Wardenate buildings are substantially larger than many and double storey.  Moving past reception is a secure area.

Secure Building

This single, small building is surrounded by its own separate wall.

Arriving at the building, the Warden tags through, goes down a short corridor and tags again through a security door.

Inside is a small room dominated by a couple of machines and a safe.  This contains equipment for creating or altering ID Tags.

Dining Cluster

There are two main areas accessible, and a third marked as ‘Vizier’s Lounge and Dining Room’, which is clearly off limits ton non-Viziers.

On the right is a cafeteria-like place staffed by Vizants, the food essentially on display in a bain-marie, and on the left a slightly more intimate establishment with the staff in neat civilian clothes where the food is presumably a la carte.

Stores Building

A separate building with a variety of stores. It’s overseen by a Vizant attendant.  She seems a little bored and is happy to help choose something.
