I-160-Oliver: Spanial (N-Space at Captree System)
Argyle Research
He begins digging into Project#21. If he persists with that all the way to Captree he can have an extra +1 to his previous +4 one off. Then it will be time to move onto the next project.
Messages
He won’t be able to check his LDA until he is in range of a local Legion signal at the Highport. Spanial’s ETA at Captree Main Orbital is late on 211.480.
Meanwhile, it looks like a bunch of messages have caught up with him:

Dear Oliver,
well this is unexpected dear, a little impetuous but your dedication is impressive. The item in question really can’t be allowed to fall into the hands of the Separatist government, so do what you can to stop that. I understand from subsequent communications with the ViC Zarg’s World, that things changed a little from your original plan. Advise us if you need any support – this is becoming quite the serious matter.

Thoughtful words, that I will take to heart. Perhaps I have grown overly comfortable in my Operations Officer role and it is time to expand myself, and I appreciate your positive words.
If I read between the lines, I might think things are not as mundane as you might ne forced to say. As it happens I was contacted by a former colleague recently, who mentioned that you had met each other at Zargonia. Does that sound familiar?

Mother, perhaps the challenge is finding the challenge? Though I am aware you have to adhere to routine and schedule, surely there must be some way to create a more satisfactory environment for personal and group development.
I’ll make sure that in future to keep my correspondence mundane so as not to embarrass you in front of your peers.
Should you remain true to who you think is the best reflection of yourself, I’m certain I will continue to have a reliable role model to look up to.
Glad to hear you are well,
Oliver.

I will seek appropriate advice regarding your actions.

To all it may concern, Willard Argyle has left the Dominion Sphere with the Notebook in hand.
As our main objective, the Notebook must be retrieved. Under Commander Halcyon cannot fly into Separatist space and the use of a Vizierate ship is highly dangerous in these circumstances.
I am going to the local Vizierate and am going to renounce my Vizant 4 status, I am then boarding a civilian ship to be taken to Separatist Space where I intend to follow Argyle.
My last order as current Captain of the Maldemar 732 is that Under Commander Halcyon along with engineers Malan and Downer and contractor Uddin return to the GRRAS station and hand my work on Argyle’s data to Salfield, where it can be further studied.

Starr: Proceed, but with care.
Nanny: Move locally to support if needed, I will send a list of possible assets.
Dicard: Tidy matters on Pristine and await instructions from Nanny. Investigate the trail of the chip emulator.

Under Commander Halcyon,
I have made arrangements for the Vizierate offices at Zarg’s World to assist you in recruiting ONE appropriate additional Control crew member, either from the Vizants or a Vizierate contractor. Contact them to make further arrangements. Please note the sensitive nature of our mission and select a candidate with an appropriately discreet nature.
Also, as Project ViC, I am countermanding Starr’s order. When suitably crewed bring Maldemar 732 to Pristine to collect me.

Vizier Dicard,
per his previous message, Starr has taken off to Separatist space.
He has ordered me to return to GRAAS, however, with Starr gone there is insufficient Control crew to safely operate the ship. While Engineer Malan has a comprehensive Yard Operator’s certificate this is not sufficient for routine operation. We will remain at Zarg’s World until you advise a course of action.

Son, your mother will be pleased you haven’t given in completely to the Vizierate! Seriously, I’m pleased that you have such options in front of you as possibilities.
The Bul-bowl continues well – I made the semi-final at the local club in the recent season. I would ask if you have any hobbies but you seem busy, so I suspect I know the answer. I do think as a family we are all quite task-driven so relaxation and play is a rare thing for any of us. That said, don’t be afraid to take your own advice.
I am pleased your work isn’t as risky as your message made it sound, and your independence is pleasing to me.
As ever, remain well and prosperous, my son.
Father, while the work with the Vizierate is rewarding, I do hope it is temporary in some regard. I would like to branch out to the Legion and maybe some private sectors and well to see where my feet sit most comfortably.
I am glad you’ve found a hobby to pick up on. I did notice, as I grew older that time for fun never really fit into your schedule. I’m sure your aware that hobbies, recreation and self care are important for your mental health, especially when one lives a stressful environment from day to day.
The caveat was mostly acknowledgement that, though I am well supplied for, I still have to take care of myself. This most recent step of my assignment is placing a lot of emphasis on that fact.
Good to hear you are well,
Oliver.

Validation, you did meet Cadmon at Zargonia…
There is too much to convey for a message, so I will say simply:
- Make me proud.
- Know that I too, love you, son
Mother.

Mum, I’ve got to do something dangerous to complete my current assignment. This may be the last time you hear from me.
I’ll make sure to use the training you gave me, I’m sure it will come in handy.
Ask Cadmon Usher about me.
I love you.
Oliver.
To be clear, that last message from Oliver’s mother was sent only a few Tasks before Spanial arrived in the system.
Would he like to respond to any of the above?
Meanwhile…
Thanks, we’ll see how that unfolds for Dicard and whether that affects Oliver!
(Insert optional GM evil chuckling sound…)
Oliver ignores the work emails.
He responds to Marissa:
“Mother, I’ve heard you may be stationed on Captree, if you want to see me I will have some time on land leave.”
To Ian:
“Father,
I have some hobbies but it’s mostly optional education to further my own performance.
Hope you take the finals next season!
Oliver.”
