I-158: Spanial, Common Room (Hyperspace to Captree)
Common Room
There are some appreciative murmurs from others around the table, echoing Lia’s sentiment and directed towards Oliver.
Is there anything else either player would like to do in the Common Room that Bluevening? Feel free to continue conversing below.
Metagame
Equally…
Looking ahead, Oliver essentially only has routine activities from now until Captree unless there is something else specific he wants to do.
Karmen needs to talk to Lia about her impending departure from the ship before then, which if we dealt with things in pure sequence would leave Oliver hanging around while the Karmen-Lia conversation is resolved.
So, whether it happens as part of the function in the Common Room, later in the voyage or when docked in orbit at Captree before leaving the ship, you should both consider this the last opportunity for the foreseeable future for Oliver and Lia to directly interact.
Oliver will try to grab Lia for a quiet moment if he can.
Lia can make herself available for that.
“I just wanted to say I hope you don’t feel like I have forced you off the ship.”
Lia laughs.
“Oh you haven’t. It’s just a debt is being called in. Otherwise I’d definitely be joining you.”
“Oh, good. The timing just seemed convenient.”
“Yeah, it’s definitely a good fit for you. I’m a little jealous actually, I’ve always been curious about Separatist space.”
“That so? I really don’t know what to expect myself”
She smiles.
“Exciting isn’t it?”
“That’s certainly a word for it.”
“So is daunting.”
“Perhaps. Depends on how you feel about the unknown I suppose.”
‘I like to be prepared. Hard to do that with no idea what is waiting for me’
She laughs.
“True. I imagine that might be quite stressful. I hope you find what you’re looking for out there.”
“And I hope your stay is eventful.”
She gives a slightly sharp look.
“That all depends on the kind of events I’m hoping for, doesn’t it, Oliver?”
Her voice is mild.
“I would say that goes for most things.”
His demeanour hasn’t changed.
There’s a pause as she continues looking at him for a long moment.
“I do appreciate your assistance on Mundo Zargo. I know the crew would to, if they had any idea of exactly what we did.”
He smiles. “I appreciate the words. I’ll leave it up to you as to if they should ever find that out.”
She huffs out a long exhale.
“You should also be proud of your contributions.”
She scrunches her nose up.
“I wouldn’t go that far. But it’s nice of you to say.”
“If we had followed up on it, you may have uncovered quite an interesting matter regarding the envoy.”
“Hmm, perhaps. I guess we’ll never know, will we?”
“I guess not”
Oliver doesn’t have much more to say
Lia seems amused.
“Best of luck on your voyage, Oliver. See you on the flip side.”
… and so Lia and Oliver go their separate ways.
