I-003: Spanial, Oliver’s Room (N-Space to Jump Point)

Lia

Messages

Can you elaborate on detail of what Lia will communicate to Lexi?  Does it include the outcome (ie they got a copy of the memo)?  Does it include anything about the Envoy’s odd behaviour?  Any other details she will mention?

Oliver

I’d forgotten about the  EMP grenade.  I will prioritise that in his schedule; I’ll put a suggested schedule together for you to approve.

Question:  Is he planning the grenades be one-shots or reusable (one shots will be cheaper, but it’s possible to build a re-usable possibly rechargeable version.)

Oliver’s Room

I think it’s possible that Oliver may emerge in Blue Shift for a snack after his nap, and Lia can follow him back to his cabin at that point, if that works for everyone?  If so, feel free to have the conversation below.

  1. Oliver Starr says:

Reusable would be better in the long term I think.

    That works for me.
“How were you thinking to split this?”

  2. Lia Silver-Rose says:

Regarding Lexi: she will mention that she can confirm she saw the memo but not that she has a copy. She will convey all of the Envoy’s odd behaviour and her interactions with him and with Zayaire.

Lia will give Oliver an assessing look.

“I was interested in your thoughts on the same.”

  3. Oliver Starr says:

    “I was thinking 50/50.”

  4. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    Her assessing look continues.

“I think that’s generous of you, all things considered.”

  5. Oliver Starr says:

    “How so?”

  6. Lia Silver-Rose says:

“You were the one who got the information we needed from the Envoy.”

  7. Oliver Starr says:

“Wouldn’t have gotten the job without you and we wouldn’t have been paid at all.”

  8. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    She blinks.

“Fair enough. I appreciate the consideration. 50/50 it is.”

She will divvy up the money cards.

“I don’t suppose you figured out how to get the card reader working?”

  9. Oliver Starr says:

He will point to a pile of parts on a workbench.
    “Not quite yet.”

  10. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    She laughs.

“Well, whenever you get a moment, it would certainly help with these.”

  11. For clarification, it’s a trivial exercise to convert an unauthorised Money card to an authorised one so the Money on it can be spent, and you don’t need a card reader to do that. However, once a card is authorised it is locked to a person, can only be used by that person, and can’t be unauthorised.

  12. Oliver Starr says:

Oliver will run Lia through the activation process by setting his half of the cards to his name using his print, if she isn’t familiar already. “I will get the card reader sorted, hopefully before we reach Captree.”

  13. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    She smiles.

    “Excellent. Thanks Oliver.”

  14. Oliver Starr says:

“Any time. Was there anything else you wished to discuss?”

  15. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    She hesitates.

“I plan on sharing my half with the crew. I won’t mention your half but this is what I would prefer to do with mine. Just so you’re not blindsided.”

  16. Oliver Starr says:

He nods. “I figured you might. You’ll understand if I do not do the same.”

  17. Lia Silver-Rose says:

    “I do.”

She will take her half as she heads for the door.

    “Ready for dinner?”

  18. Oliver Starr says:

    “I am.”

He will join her in heading to the meal room.
