It is, yes, an electric keyboard rather than a mechanical piano – which is a rare item in the Dominion.  Incidentally, real music aficionados will often claim the timbre of an authentic wooden instrument is something that can’t be fully simulated with electronics or more economical materials.  However, despite that enthusiasm, the number of mechanical pianos made of wood in the Dominion can probably be counted on one hand.

Though the instruments take up only a small corner of the lounge, they do appear ready to play.  All Lia will have to do is press the ‘On’ button…
