For clarity for both of us I broke up and summarised the questions and responses below.  I made some minor changes to your text around the bonuses – in GURPS the bonus is applied to the skill and not the roll (meaning you can’t mod your way to a crit!)  Also noting some of these she will get to use her Charisma bonus (though I haven’t explicitly noted that.)

Note that the following notes will take place over a longish time and be background/parallel to other things we might cover.

We’ll revisit progress again in a bit.

  

Info Dump

Two Research rolls for Lia’s appraisal of Dator’s information package: 

7 & 4 vs 13 for Research respectively.

Nominate any other skills Lia might have that you think might be relevant: 

Add in 10 vs 14 for Current Affairs (High Culture) and 8 vs 12 for Geology (Rock Worlds) if they’re relevant.

That’s a good roll and critical success for her research – seems she won’t have any issue absorbing and making use of the information in the brief.

Her people research gives her a good grounding in the local politics and power personalities, and her grasp of some of the technical considerations will help with identification of needs that might be met by local suppliers.

  

Twin Objectives

Local Suppliers

Two rolls against any two of Lia’s skills … the skills will/should reflect the sort of approach she’s taking against each objective:

For the Local Suppliers she will use Streetwise and Research – 11 vs 14 (+3) = 17 for Streetwise and 8 vs 13 (+2) = 15 for Research.

She begins developing an understanding of what the local market may offer and matching that to the likely construction needs, building on the matching work already done for the information package.  She can reach out, leveraging her existing contacts and initially gaining some help from Cinna.  She will discover that Raina’s/Cinna’s web already seems to have many threads into the local private business community and Captree apparently has a substantial ‘black economy’.

Administrative Region

Two rolls against any two of Lia’s skills … the skills ill/should reflect the sort of approach she’s taking against each objective:

For the Administrative Region she will use Savoir-faire (High Society) and Sex Appeal – 8 vs 14 (+1) = 15 for Savoir Faire and 14 vs 19 (+2) = 21 for Sex Appeal.

Would that imply she’s taking an (even more) active role in Captree’s social set?  NB:  This may be affected by the rest of the current scene at the Law offices, so we may come back to that.

It’s possible she’ll pick up a few extra clients along the way.

Does the sex appeal approach indicate that she might go beyond mere flirting to get a result (ie without being directly remunerated as an escort)?

Urgency

Using the bonus will take extra time, the more bonus, the more time; it’s unclear at this point how patient Raina will be: 

That uses all +8 of the bonuses you allowed but if she gets pushed for time by Raina, she may have to sacrifice some of those.

Which may be a problem if she’s opted for ‘long con’ operations and she suddenly has to rush them; but we’ll see how that plays out…

      

Law Offices of Zevon, Croolsee, Brownej and Raina

Does Lia wish to do anything else at the offices or with Dator?

She doesn’t need anything else from Dator apart from checking whether she needs to sign anything and if she can take this widget with her.

Indeed, he does have something for her to sign:  A contract for consulting services as an independent research consultant to the business partnership of Zevon, Croolsee, Brownej and Raina.  Initial consideration is an amount of ʄ10,000 for a block of 40 Jobs of consultation.

If she’s happy to sign, he will hand over ten unauthorised money cards of ʄ1,000 each, with a comment that ‘Mer Raina suggested this method of payment might have additional uses beyond simple remuneration.’

He will also authenticate her tag with the building security system, so she can come and go as she pleases on the lower two floors beyond reception (which are  secure areas), and show her how to use the room booking system should she need a temporary office in which to work or a meeting room.  He will also introduces her to an administrative assistant who can assist with random small things (like organising food and drink if she uses the offices for a meeting) or should she want business cards with her new title printed.
