H-184: Captree, Platters on The Esplanade

She sounds exotic and alluring…

Lia will arrive to find a couple of diners ahead of her being turned away as Platters is ‘full’ but she is recognised and welcomed inside.  Within, the lighting is a little more subdued  than usual; beyond the impressive windows, it is dark outside except for bright flashes of lightning storm that is slowly rolling in from the sea.

About half the tables have been removed to make way for a large open central area with two long tables smorgasborded out instead.  A live 3-piece band is playing at one end of open area.   

“No reserved seats tonight Mer, food and drink is free for all guests,” she is advised.

Inside it’s quite full, and quite a bit noisier than usual.  

One of the regular servers is circulating with a tray of drinks, gives Lia a smile and offers her a sparkling from the tray, or to get her something from the bar.
