H-178: Captree

Roll Acting for her bluffage, she’s pretty practiced by now so it shouldn’t be difficult.

She and Benino reach consistent understanding on a story for the media, during which she will learn some of the actual story:  Benino is a Hybrid, whose father died while he was very young.  After a number of lean, hard years on the Benevolence his mother was fortunate enough to partner with a Forerunner, as a result of that he has an older half-sibling who is also a Forerunner.  His mother and her new partner were then killed in an accident and he was taken in by the new partner’s parental Forerunner household as kind of package deal with his elder sibling.  He remembers some of the most joyous times in his youth as being when he went to fine dining establishments that he could not even conceive of as a child.  Having seen the privileged and under-privileged he wants to bring that joy he experienced to a wider group of people.  He met the chef, Gord Bolton, when he was working at a soup kitchen for freed indentures and recognised his potential and after running a small cafe, they agreed to start this venture.  They approached Cinna for a loan after the Dominion Bank wouldn’t touch them because of Gord’s past.

Benino notes that neither he nor Gord have any intention of letting the media anywhere near the chef.

When Lia approaches Maxine, she suggests that Lia is personable and photogenic and would be good to include in the article.  Is she willing?

  1. Lia Silver-Rose says:

5 vs 14 for Acting. Waste of a great roll.

I love Benito’s story! Lia’s says she will try to discourage too much attention on the kitchen.

Lia tells Maxine that she’s flattered but would prefer to remain in the background. Unless they want to set up an anonymous diner number 2 situation. Otherwise she says she’s not really about putting herself in the limelight, more about putting others’ needs first.
