So as discussed, at that point the Captain arrives to the dinner and drops a plot hook… that Lia ignores or we don’t deem sufficiently important to pursue here.

Lia may or may not engage with the colourful cast of characters sketched out at the dinner table, and the others through the ship she is yet to meet, but that is a story for future flashbacks…
