G-123: Crystal Coast Resort, Outdoor Entertainment Area
Cameras
Many PDAs have cameras, you may assume that Oliver’s and Lia’s (though I can’t remember if she actually has one) are so equipped.
Crystal Coast Resort
Repeating…
Level 3
Oliver – Room 308
Level 4
Lia – Room 429
Envoy – Room 402
Sydney Noyes-Bowie (‘The Woman’) – Room 403
Theodore Wasylow (‘The Big Guy’) – Room 401
Leroy Morrey (‘The Little Guy’) – Room Unknown
– NB: Oliver has figured out the little guy’s name from the Envoy’s messages but Lia doesn’t yet know it.
“We’ll call it borrowing or temporarily misplacing.”
“Hm. Maybe, I’m worried that with the camera missing it will put them on high alert, unless we make it look like a clumsy theft by someone who would be looking to sell the camera. Either way we’ll need to remove it or incapacitate it so I’m not seen entering the room. We’ll need to be certain there’s nobody monitoring the property while I’m there though.”
“Any ideas on how we can achieve that?”
“Well mostly we just need to see when they leave then go. Else I have some gear that might be usable.”
“Hmmm.”
Lia appears to be pondering but she doesn’t say anything further.
“No luck on getting any closer then?”
“Closer?”
“to our target”
She gives him a funny look.
“I just came from breakfast with him. Haven’t had time to do more.”
“Ah, that’s what you meant by seeds.”
She looks amused.
“Yes. They may need a little nurturing before they bear fruit.”
“Well I suppose I should get started on the camera after this then.”
“Sounds good.”
“Any idea what his movements are for today?”
She shakes her head.
“Afraid not.”
“Well, I guess I’ll have to take a risk.”
“So long as you’re sure.”
“Not at all, but I think we’re out of time and options. I assume failure isn’t ideal for your relationship with the client.”
“Relationship? What relationship are you speaking of?”
“Whatever…” he waves his hand searchingly “… that was with him. Seems you had some history. I assume you wanted to keep things positive.”
She gives him a flat look.
“Things should remain positive in order to release our shipmates. Also because he’s a powerful man and we’re currently in his territory. To clarify, he is not a client, he is someone who is choosing to leverage our people’s safety and freedom to further his own ends. That is the extent of our ‘relationship’.
Oliver smiles. “So he’s a nasty client.”
She makes a face.
“If that’s how you choose to view him.”
“There’s all sorts. I’ll take that as a yes, though. We want the client to be happy. I will see what I can do.”
Oliver will finish his drink.
“Anything else?”
“No, that’s all I’ve got.”
Oliver will stand.
“Then I best get to work.”
If there’s nothing else he’ll bid farewell and head back to the hotel.
She gives him a nod and turns her attention to the room.
