“I think… that the proof is in the outcomes. 

“I think that individuals and processes that operate on local feedback of meaningful measures from people who are free to make choices, rather than top-down control informed by measuring things that aren’t actually important get better outcomes.

“I think that gradually, little by little, common sense and self-interest will actually prevail.”

She sighs.

“Not sure we’ll see a radical change any time soon though, just little wins here and there.”

    “You’re somewhat of an idealist. A true rarity. I’m not sure I believe that strongly in the power of common sense over self interest. Most people are far more invested in themselves than in the common good.”
