F-248-Lia: Secretariat Building, Private Dining Room

“Some people would be terrified.  Some people would be flattered and not have the good sense to be terrified.  They are not mutually exclusive, so you may do both, if you wish.

He crinkles his eyes, and his face softens, “I am one of the strange people in the purple robes, after all.”

He pauses, and something cold and hard comes into his eyes.

“And here on Mundo Zargo I can wield substantial power, if I choose to do so.”

In an instant, the cold falls from his eyes.

“But, I give you my word, I mean you no ill will, not would I willingly allow harm to come to you incidentally. “

    She studies him for another moment before speaking.

    “You don’t terrify me but I flatter myself that it’s not for want of good sense. I’m perfectly cognizant of your position and indeed, the lion’s den we are currently sitting in.”

    Her eyes scan the room and by implication, the building surrounding it.

    “I confess that, several of the interactions you mentioned were not in service of my employment.”

    She makes a little face.

    “I’m somewhat annoyed with myself for not noticing your attention.”
