He’s mulling something over.
“I will tell you our employer considered it more valuable than all our lives, and theirs, and the ships. Even the people in the lab we found who were supposed to watch over it and use it.
“I was supposed to make sure it stayed powered, too. Whatever it took.”
She blinks.
“He considered… whatever was in there to be more important than all of those lives? And this is who you work for?”
She seems concerned.
