Introduction
The Overlord’s Household is an organisation established under the Codex.
Members of the Household staff the Black Palace and the Overlordly Preserves and provide direct service to the Overlord.
When the Overlord selects Envoys to do various jobs, it is common that a member of the Household is chosen.
The Household is common fodder for daily vid news for the pomp and ceremony it provides, though likes to keep a low profile with regard to its influence on Dominion politics. The player characters are aware that the Household has a security section.
Uniform
Members of the Household adopt various forms of livery in dark green (technically close to Myrtle), with black trim. Uniforms are oft festooned with epaulets, piping, straps and braid.
Ranks
The household has a formal but simple rank structure for its members, as follows:
- Provisorial Member (includes temps, short-term contractors etc.)
- Associate Member
- Householder (Household Member)
- Household Fellow
- Named Positions (eg: The <something>, The Butler, The Chef, The Castellan)
Underlords’ Households
The codex made provision for similar Households for each Underlord, but like the Underlords themselves, these were disbanded under Overlord Kate. (Uniforms for Underlords’ Households were light green with trim of the Octant colour.)
