Identity Documents

Introduction

Every person of the Dominion is issued with a set of identity documents.  Most people just carry a small metal tag on them that is imprinted with their Dominion Mer ID, Name and a machine-readable section (sometimes called the tag strip).

However, Mers also have a set of paper hardcopies of the information on the tag strip.  Most people would mostly leave the paper documents at home and only carry them when travelling or of they specifically needed to interact with some part of the Dominion Bureaucracy or Legion.

Tags are commonly worn around the neck, on a band around the wrist, or on a chain, fob-watch style.
