He follows with, “well, from the little I know Gollins seems straightforward but not stupid, so it’s hard to say. I wouldn’t have picked him as the corruptible type, but he’s maintained a position on the council as an Operations Legionnaire, when those roles usually go to the Commissariat so he can’t be a complete fool politically.
“Penderberry is a Commissar, they’re not supposed to be easily corruptible, their job is to prevent corruption, but being devious and secretive seems to be one of the main entry requirements and corruption can go hand-in-hand with that sort of person.”
Lia sits back, watching Oliver and Jonathan discuss.
“Indeed. Widget stated the meeting details weren’t clear to the surveillance team.”
He thinks a moment. “Also depends on what the individual would determine as corrupt. A lot easier to justify something when an elected official tells you to do it.”
