Lia has seen Raina with some overly-garish hairstyles, but nothing quite like this, and Raina rarely, if ever, wears makeup.

The gestures were almost theatrical, as if this were a play for children.

And yet…

Lia rounds past a rack of identical long gowns, forming a spectrum from red to violet on their rack.  Raina comes into proper view.

She is wearing something bright grey, it’s almost glowing and hard to look at.  It doesn’t seem to have a texture.  She can just see edges – a collar, a hem, sleeves…
