4-051: Zebulon Station, Section BC, Public Information Terminal

Oliver finds an out-of-the-way terminal nestled in the corner of section BC.

He links his PDA to the terminal and activates his location spoofing program.

He locates and links to the local VizNet with ease.

He begins researching…

Frederick Salfield

It is fairly easy to locate an entry for Minor Vizier Frederick Salfield.

Indeed, the surname may give Oliver pause.

There are a small number of names in the Dominion that are noted as old family names, these names are associated with power and prestige (contemporary equivalents might be Kennedy, Rockerfeller, Rothschild, Windsor, Koch, Mubarak, Morgan, DuPont.)  Salfield is one such name (for example).

Frederick is 22kCy old.  He is an Alumnus of the Vizierate Academy on Aran’s Pride.  For a number of kCy he worked in the Under Vizier’s Officiate advising the Secretariat of Octant 6.  Then he was posted as a Special Liaison to the Overlord’s Household on Zargonia (that part is sparse on details).  For the last 5 kCy he has been Vizier-In-Charge (ViC) of Special Projects at GRAAS.

Richard Dicard

Dicard’s entry seems not to have been updated recently – perhaps it is comms lag (ie information only moves at the speed of ship travel, Dicard was working on Aran’s Pride, then moved to GRAAS ion the Riddle system and you are now at Zargonia – sometimes non-local databases aren’t always fully up-to-date.) According to the sparse information you can find, Dicard was working in some sort of economics analyst role on Aran’s Pride – which is where you met him.

Dr Victor Fromm

There is no record of Fromm in the casually available VizNet records.  However his name appears on a (gigantic) list of names of people who have served in the Legion (had he not had the list open when searching for Alan [see below] he might not have found this.)  He is listed as Staff Under Commander Surgeon (Retired) Victor Fromm.

Erin Malan

Erin Doesn’t appear in the VizNet records.  Although a pass-through query to PubNet shows she is a licenced civilian Starship Engineer.  Consistent with what the customs officer said last stop, her licence was cancelled about a kiloCycle ago by order of the Legion (not the relevant department of the Bureaucracy.)  It was reinstated shortly before everyone took over the Snark.

Christopher Uddin

Chris appears on a looooong list of names to be watched as probably involved in criminal activity, circulated from the Legion to the Vizierate as part of a routine information sharing protocol.

Alan Halcyon

As noted above, Alan appears on a list of names of people who have served in the Legion.  His class, rank and role at time of his retirement is listed as Operations Under Commander Master Pilot (meaning he has qualifications as both Pilot and Navigator.)  It is noted that he was recalled to duty on a date consistent with the date you met him, and he is currently listed as Operations Under Commander Vizierate Special Liaison Alan Halcyon RLO (the Legion’s titles can certainly sound impressive, can’t they?)

As Oliver is finishing the research that reveals the above, he looks up to see a couple of black-clad Legion Public Safety Officers approaching him, they are about 15m away when he spots them.

Shut down anything illegal as well as the spoofer and open up something touristy on the public net, if possible.
